sail a ship on my ocean

Although I don’t shop there too much, I recently made a stop at my local Urban Outfitters since it was on my way home (after I walked a block out of the way). I was very pleased to see lots and lots of sale stuff- my favorite! I allowed myself to get one thing, and at $10 this striped bodysuit won! I am a little annoyed with myself for not trying it on because I always forget to account for my longer torso, so it is a bit small for me. It’s still wearable though and I was very happy about how well it matched this skirt. In an effort to avoid being too red, white, and blue though I went with tan accessories. Ideally I would have been wearing these shoes, but there’s some rule about paying for things before you receive them or something. Weak.

Just use your imagination and pretend I’m wearing those, it’s much cuter. And as usual, sorry for the blur.

I made these little guys out of vintage buttons from my Gramma.

old lady accessories

I was really happy with how well this outfit came out! I hardly ever wear this pencil skirt, but combined with the cropped sleeve jacket, gloves, and tiny pillbox handbag it makes the perfect old lady style classic outfit. And I love this coat so much- it’s vintage  and locally made! I got it for free years ago and was very pleased to later find out that it was made by the now-defunct Cincinnati brand, Sincerely Jenny.

I really love the detail on this shirt too.

RETROactive posting- part 4

I honestly cannot remember when I wore this outfit last. I really like it, but it’s a bit restrictive. Also, I try not to dress too cute when I work at the library due to the amount of creepy dudes who stare at me when I do. It’s just the kind of staring that you can feel and it gets a bit disruptive when you’re trying to work. I especially love this tie; it’s a silk one from about the 1930′s. newspaper editor
