mixing it up

Lately I’ve been trying to wear some things that I normally maybe wouldn’t have chosen, I firmly believe that if something in your life feels stale and expected that taking a step out of your comfort zone can be a fantastic help. In that vein I’ve been trying to get a little away from my matchy-matchy outfits and test my own aesthetic. Typically I wouldn’t have put this stripe bodysuit with a floral skirt- despite its popularity I have a problem mixing patterns. I love how it looks on everyone else, but some little voice in my head says ‘Oh goodness no!’ every time I try it. Well I know that prude little bitch in my head is wrong so I’m branching out. I was so so so so excited to find some lovely little gloves that actually fit my slightly-larger-than-average hands and I thought this was a good outfit to debut them.

I wore this number a few months ago and forgot to ever document it, so when I heard that I had to go to a family dinner I figured I’d rewear it. I was really too hot in the hat and coat, but one must suffer occasionally for fashion.

I got this amazing necklace recently, but the best part is the back!

My camera chooses odd things to focus on- like the foliage in the mirror instead of the mirror itself.
