i wish every day was halloween part 1

I hope everyone’s Halloween was fantastic, I wish I could see all my readers’ costumes! This year, since there were so many great things to do both Friday and Saturday, I decided to do a different costume each night. It was pretty chilly here on Friday and I wasn’t quite happy with my Tank Girl costume yet so I opted for zombie Dolly again. It worked out well and I was happy how many people recognized who I was. Jacob was The Unabomber, but somehow I don’t have a single picture of him! These pictures are actually from the Chicken Lays An Egg zombie party, but I wore the exact same thing. (First two images by Rachel Elliott)

Zombies like to drink too! And you can’t tell from this angle, but my glass is a giant cowboy boot mug.

I’ll have a post just about the party up in the next few days too- I’m waiting on a few more pictures.

Maya’s Lydia Deetz costume turned out pretty good too- the best part was definitely the hair! I wish I’d have gotten one of her with her prop camera, it definitely made it more recognizable.

I have some more to come of my Tank Girl costume as well, so stay tuned!

blowin’ kisses to disinterested bitches

Well, I hope everyone’s week is going as well as mine! I do apologize for the mysterious disappearance last week. Myself and the girls were busy getting stuff ready for our Halloween one year anniversary party we had at Chicken Lays An Egg this Saturday. It was a grand zombie-fied evening, and once I sort through and edit the 400+ pictures that were taken on my camera that night, I will have a great post about it.

Needless to say, I am thrilled to celebrate one of the best years of my life! Our actual anniversary is Halloween day so I still have a bit of celebrating to do. AND one of my favorite bars, Mayday had their one year anniversary last Friday. I guess good things come in pairs. :)

Anyway, this set of pictures is from the awesome drive to the park and around town that Jacob and I took the other day. It was the perfect fall day…

We hit a few different locations and I just snapped as many pretty fall scenes as I could!

Who doesn’t love a good jean jacket day?

My grandma gave me almost the exact same necklace in ivory that my great aunt originally got in India on her travels around the world. Since it’s so fragile I’m don’t wear it for fear of crushing it. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to find a plastic replica to sport.

stopped (for now)

I just heard that BP has finally sealed off the leak (we’ll see how well it works) and I am skeptical but very hopeful. Coincidentally the outfit  I’m wearing seems surprisingly nautical outfit for a sweaty day in the Midwest.

I love my little jointed fishie.

Like perfect little sand dollars

Although I thought this dress was adorable when I saw it on their site, I must say I was a bit apprehensive about wearing something with a dropped waist. I just usually don’t like how they fit, and with this being jersey I figured it would be way too clingy in all the wrong spots. I was very pleasantly surprised though when I saw how it looked on! It’s super comfy and light too so I’ve been wearing the crap out of it lately. Shabby Apple also donates a portion of their proceeds to Unitus to help women throughout the world get micro-loans, which is a nice perk to buying a cute dress.

I was pretty tickled to see that Tieka from Selective Potential picked out the same dress in red!
