Jeans? Again? I know, I know. But I like this whole ensemble a lot, I really love the color palate. This was also a bit of a special occasion because I can fit into my high-waisted jeans again! I always gain a bit of weight in the winter (who doesn’t) but I had sadly gotten to the point where I couldn’t really wear these guys comfortably. Although due to the giant pile of laundry I have yet to do, I didn’t have any other clean jeans so I tried them on and VOILA!

I have say as much as I dig this shirt, I really hate these pictures. I had to take them just this once in my totally unappealing kitchen. I feel odd because I don’t really have anything to say about this outfit. Just a little something I threw on to go out for a drink with some friends.

Here’s another outfit from the ever-growing t-shirt and jeans collection. It’s just been so cold here lately that I just can’t force myself to wear dresses, as much as I want to. I just cannot wait for the slightest glimpse of warmth and sunshine. Delightfully Tacky, if you’re reading this, reading your blog always makes feel like the biggest whiner when I complain about the cold. I really don’t know how you do it!
Anyway, I really love this shirt and it’s abstract cactus embroidery (at least that’s what I’ve decided it its).

Oy, sorry it’s been so long everybody! I have no good excuse, I’ve just been lazy and kind of uninspired in the last week or so. Anyway this is an old favorite of mine, but somehow I’d never posted it! The awesome tunic is from the clearance rack, another awesome piece from Jonathan Saunders for Target. I have suuuuch a weakness for that stuff. You know- simple, vintage-y feel but with a totally reasonable price. Anyway, this guy is super comfy and makes for such an effortless outfit.

Pardon the wet spot, I got toothpaste on myself and forgot that my shirt was still wet. Oops!

While I was taking my pictures somebody got hit in the crosswalk in front of my house! Crazy! (They had to go to the hospital, but were ok.)

I’ve noticed in going back through my old posts that slowly more and more cuss words have worked their way into my blog. I had to laugh because honestly it just means I’m being myself a little more. My mom taught me many of my most flavorful words in her moments of surprise pain and extreme aggravation. Truthfully I love dirty words, it delights me quite a bit to throw a good fuck into a sentence. I really don’t think about it too much, but the other day I was reading Keiko Lynn‘s little get to know me post where she mentioned that she can’t bring herself to swear. It seemed like such a cute odd thing to me, only because I’m so opposite.
Anyway, this outfit is obviously pretty similar to my last, but I was really happy with this color combo. Not to mention the INCREDIBLE map shirt! Random fact about me: I love geography, and one of the most beautiful things to me are maps. Doesn’t matter what it’s of or what facts it illustrates, I am obsessed. I have a giant map of Cincinnati right by my door in case I ever don’t know where I’m headed.
I had a good time taking these photos today, sorry for the location change though!

I got this awesome little guy at an antique store for $2!

Well I’m not sure if my most recent shopping trip did it or what, but I have broken through my outfitblock. I finally put something together that my critical mind didn’t find overly simple. I had been looking for a suspender pencil skirt like this for years, so I basically lost my shit when I found this one! I just picked up this shirt at a half off sale and was really pleased with how well it went with the skirt. Add complimentary tights and presto!

I know I’ve mentioned it recently, I’ve been really unhappy with my outfits lately. While I like this one, it’s not totally up to snuff. I had been looking pretty hardcore for a drape cardigan like this though, so I was pretty stoked to find one I really like. I was also pretty happy to take advantage of the warm day and not rock a coat.

I just got a very sweet email from the always stunning Erin at calivintage telling me that she’s going to put a link on her page too!
I got this idea a few days ago for a blogger gift dissemination of sorts, and I absolutely cannot wait to set it in motion and thank all these lovely ladies for being so sweet and supportive!
Also, my friend Amanda Lee did a fantastic post today about de-cluttering your closet in a productive way, and I definitely recommend you check it out!
Like I said a few days ago, whenever I’m in a wardrobe funk and I spend some time cruising other style blogs, it always helps me get back into it. So I have to credit the always lovely Keiko Lynn for most of the inspiration on this outfit; it’s a lot like her January 6 post. And the cool scarf loop was an idea I got from Orchid Grey. I love the way she’s been rocking her new scarf, and with the help of some safety pins I achieved the same thing!

I usually try to keep my blog about style and such, but these two records are so damn funky I just had to pass along the word!
First up, you should mos def check out the new Metric album, Fantasies. The single, “Help, I’m Alive” is dark and sad and kind of makes me want to kick someone’s ass. I also absolutely love track 10, Stadium Love; the concept is based on crazy National Geographic animal fights. Emily Haines is the shit.

And I really think anyone who digs hip hop in any capacity absolutely must listen to Blakroc. It is the collaboration of a bunch of hip hop and R&B performers (including Mos Def, RZA, Ludacris, +) and The Black Keys, produced by Damon Dash. It’s basically so hot that your ears might melt right off your face.
